Jing Gong AU-2G

The AUG (Armee Universal Gewehr - "Universal Army Rifle") is an Austrian 5.56 mm assault rifle, designed in the early 1970s by Steyr Mannlicher & Company. The AUG was designed as a modular, bullpup family of rifles that could be quickly adapted to a wide variety of roles. Bull pup rifles are firearms configured with the action and magazine behind the trigger. This configuration increases the barrel length relative to the overall weapon length, permitting shorter weapons, saving weight and increasing maneuverability. The AUG is a configuration rifle that employs a high level of synthetic and advanced alloy components. The Jing Gong Steyr AUG A2 is a redesigned version of the A1 that boasts a new charging handle and an integrated scope.

Jing Gong's recent release of the AU-1G has been topped by their latest Airsoft Steyr AUG Release: the AU-2G. The AU-2G is also know as Jing Gong airsoft model number JG0449A. Jing Gong Airsoft Gun Company has again created an excellent airsoft TM/CA clone that can be had for under $175USD.

While it looks like the earlier version, the Jing Gong AU-2G has some surprising differences. First, the body is made of Solid Nylon ABS plastic, and has the feel of the real Steyr AUG composite material. The barrel, scope mount, scope body, upper receiver, sling mounts and gas tube are all metal. The color is an olive/drab grey shade; very close to the real Steyr Aug. The 330-round hicap magazine is the wind-up waffle style, constructed of nylon ABS plastic. Just holding the AU-2G, It is obvious Jing Gong Built it to take a beating on the airsoft skirmish field. The Jing Gong AU-2G comes with an integrated, adjustable 1.5x magnifying scope. The Au-2G scope optics are crystal clear! The scope body has open sites on top if you cannot use the scope in low lighting or CQB scenarios. We have noticed that some of the scopes have tilted cross-hairs out of the box. This is easily fixed with an inside span wrench to turn the scope optics ever so slightly. There is also a collapsible front grip. It's solid, but has a tolerable wobble to it. Pulling back the mock charging handle exposes the Hop-up dial located on the stock. The Hop-up can be accessed on the left or the right, accommodating left-handed and right-handed airsoft players. The Jing Gong AU-2G also sports easy field disassembly into 3 main components (Stock, upper receiver, and barrel assemblies). The Jing Gong Au-2G is approximately 31.5 inches long and weighs in at 7lbs 11oz when empty.


Safety

Following the design of the real steel Steyr AUG, this Airsoft Bullpup rifle functions the same way. The safety is a push button type with a red or white dot indicating safe and fire modes. Semi-Automatic fire is accomplished by pulling the trigger half-way. Depressing the trigger all the way switches to full-auto fire. The JG AU-2G chrono'd rate of fire is around 15 rounds per second (900 rpm) using a Guarder 2000 chronograph. The AU-2G comes with an 8.4v 1100mAh mini-battery that fits into the rear of the stock. You might be able to get a 1200mAh battery in there, but it would be tight; there's not much room for battery upgrades. With the included battery we fired four full hi-cap magazines through it before the voltage started to drop off. The fifth magazine drained out the remaining charge. The AU-2G sports a metal Version 3 Gearbox and rubber hop-up. With .2g TSD Tactical BBs we chrono'd the AU-2G between 342 - 351 Feet Per Second (FPS). Accuracy with .2g - .25g BBs was pretty good up to 100-150 feet. We were able to hit a soda can consistently at 150 feet.

Overall, this gun is well worth the investment. Jing Gong Airsoft keeps improving their airsoft offerings with each new product and version. It's no wonder they are rapidly becoming the most popular of the Chinese manufacturers. If you are a fan of Bullpup series or unique European issue rifles, you are going to enjoy owning the Jing Gong AU-2G Airsoft rifle.

Unjamming An Airsoft Gun

10 Easy Steps On Unjamming An Airsoft Gun?

.Stop firing immediately.
.Continuing to fire may result in a broken piston or gear.
.Check to see if any object is clogged in the barrel.
.Turn off your hop up by setting it to zero.
.With the opposite end of a cleaning rod, insert it into the barrel.
.Turn the gun upside down.
.Gently push the airsoft pellet back into the magazine.
.After the airsoft pellet has cleared from the barrel, test fire a few shots without ammo.
.If the gun sounds fine, test fire with an airsoft pellet.
.If the problem continues, contact a local dealer regarding repairs.

Additional Problems

If the plastic cleaning rod breaks, use long narrow bolt grabbers to grip the broken rod and slowly remove. It is very unlikely but if a metal cleaning rod breaks in the barrel use a mini screw magnet.

More Advice

.An airsoft player can use a 22 caliber-cleaning rod to unjam the barrel.
.Never try to unjam the barrel by firing another round.

Dissasemble Body of M4 CQB

This is a basic disassembly guide for the M4 Commando. I have the CQB-OPS model, but most of this information should still be relevant. Steps in parenthesis are optional and are not necessary to access the gearbox.

The RAS/ Battery Compartment (Commando series only)

1. Remove the battery
2. Remove the two battery compartment screws, and then push the two "open" buttons and remove the lower section of the RAS.
(3). If you look at the inside, you should be able to see a piece that clamps the upper RAS to the outer barrel. Remove the two screws and take the clamp piece off. You should now be able to remove the upper RAS by lifting and sliding it away from the delta ring.
(4). Using a small hex key, loosen the small screw underneath the orange flash hider. Turn the flash hider "right" to loosen it. (It's "reverse threaded").
(5). Loosen the screws that hold the gas block (the RAS section that the front sight attaches to). You can now slide this piece off without totally removing the screws.

The Stock (optional) (Folding stock only)

(1). Fold the stock
(2). Loosen the ring (roughly 1 in in diameter) that is closest to the body of the gun. (this ring should be snugged with the body of the gun when re-assembled)
(3). Remove the bolt in the main body of the gun (just above the pistol grip) that attaches the pivot-joint to the body.
(4). Close the pivot joint
(5). loosen the second ring (should be snugged against the pivot-joint) and loosen the small screw at the bottom of the pivot joint.
(6). unscrew the telescoping stock from the pivot-joint

The Body

1. Near the front of the gun you will notice wiring zip-tied to the outer barrel. You will notice a black plastic cylinder on the top: this contains the fuse. You should also notice two parts of the wiring that look shrink-wrapped. These are actually connectors. They must be detached, just pull them apart. Cutting the zip ties should not be necessary.
2. Once the wires are detached, unscrew the main body pins, starting with the one closest to the muzzle. Use a flathead screwdriver.
3. The first pin (closest to the muzzle) should come out without much trouble. The second pin is a little more tricky. Use the first pin to tap out the second pin with a screw driver. It won't give at all at first, but then it should come out smoothly.
4. Once the pins are removed, begin sliding the upper receiver away from the lower receiver. It should catch. Grab the charging handle, pull it back, and lift. you should now be able to slide the upper receiver off. Be careful to note where the two wires you detached earlier slide through the base of the delta ring, you'll need to feed them back through for reassembly.
